These flowers exude happiness and joy.
They first came to me during the pandemic, when color felt like medicine and beauty felt necessary. Painting them became a way to bring light back into the room, into the body, into the day.
Now, at the start of each year, I feel the same pull. A quiet knowing that it is time again. To paint joy on purpose. To let color lead. To offer something bright and alive.
This series is a reminder that joy is not frivolous.
It is restorative.
It is grounding.
It is something we are allowed to live with every day.
